What You’ll Be Doing:

As the Regional Sales & Operations Manager you’ll be at the forefront of expanding Mukuru’s presence in East Africa. From driving transaction volumes to overseeing operations and ensuring compliance, this role is a perfect blend of strategy, leadership, and execution.

Key Areas of Responsibility:

Sales & Growth Execution

  • Drive transaction growth across branches, agents, and digital channels
  • Own the front of funnel and customer retention strategy
  • Expand our agent and partner network with on-ground activations and business development
  • Roll out exciting territory-specific marketing activations and track ROI
  • Deliver on revenue and growth targets across your region

Operational Excellence & Compliance

  • Ensure operations meet regulatory and internal compliance standards
  • Oversee branch/agent ops, cash handling, reconciliations, and SLAs
  • Implement effective controls to reduce risk and loss
  • Lead audits, compliance checks, and drive best practices

Leadership & Cross-Functional Impact

  • Manage and mentor regional teams (Sales Leads, Agent Managers, Tellers, etc.)
  • Foster a high-performance, KPI-driven culture
  • Collaborate with Marketing, Finance, and Compliance teams
  • Solve problems on the ground and lead continuous improvement initiatives

What We’re Looking For:

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Finance, or related field
  • Postgraduate qualification? Big bonus!

Experience:

  • 6+ years in sales, operations, or business development
  • 3+ years in a senior role (preferably in fintech, financial services, banking, or MNOs)
  • Experience managing multi-country teams and regional projects

Skills & Expertise:

  • Deep understanding of remittances, digital payments & agent networks
  • Familiar with AML/CFT, central bank compliance, and regional regulations
  • Strong command of sales forecasting, budgeting & ROI tracking
  • Tech-savvy: Excel, CRM platforms, and dashboard reporting

Soft Skills:

  • Commercially sharp & customer obsessed
  • A confident leader with excellent communication skills
  • Analytical, resilient, and always proactive
  • Thrives in multicultural, fast-paced environments

Bonus Points If You’re:

  • Multilingual (Swahili or French is a big plus)
  • Well-connected in the local financial/agent ecosystem
  • Eager and willing to travel across East African markets regularly

Important Note:
This role is based in Nairobi, Kenya, but the successful candidate will travel regularly across East Africa as part of their responsibilities. So if you love variety, challenges, and regional impact — this role is for you!
